![]() Hence, it ensures the durability and safeguarding of the materials. These cargo boxes are constructed with high-quality materials like ABS plastic and a sturdy lid. The inside part of this box is fabulous and nicely designed. So I’d say this design feature is superb and highly effective. I almost visited a vast part of Arizona without any wind noise. I didn’t hear any whistles or wind noise during my long journey with my cousin. They’re similar to the dimples on a golf ball, where they increase aerodynamics and decrease road noise. Aerodynamic DesignĬheck out the dimples in the lid. It also won’t interfere with most antennas. For this reason, you can be confident that your box is fully closed before hitting the road.įurther, the rear end of the box is designed to give space for the rear hatches to open. It keeps the key captured until the box is closed securely. As a result, packing or unpacking from whatever side closest to you becomes so convenient. One of the best features is the Skybox’s ability to open from both the left and right sides of the box. Here are the main feature of this cargo box – Easy Loading Now, I’ll tell you the features of the Yakima SkyBox – Features This model is 6 feet 9 inches long, 36 inches wide, 15 inches tall, and weighs 47 pounds. All I can say is that it is awe-inspiring and mind-blowing. I recently bought the Yakima SkyBox 16 Carbonite Cargo Roof Box. It offers various size options, including the SkyBox 12, 16, 18, and 21, catering to different storage requirements. I haven't loaded it down yet, but imagine it might ride even better when full. The Yakima SkyBox series is known for its sleek and aerodynamic design, minimizing wind noise and drag during travel. With a strong wind, I think I can feel it slightly, but again like with the noise it's hard to tell if I am actually feeling it or if it is in my head. Regarding feel, I can barely tell it is there. Truly though, regardless of whether the car is silent or not, I have to work to hear the Skybox noise and can hardly be sure if it is actually what I'm hearing. I can hear it with the a/c and music on just slightly only because it is a different frequency distribution of noise (I have sensitive hearing though). The volume in a silent car is comparable to the a/c on low to medium, maybe 3 bars. Much easier than a canoe though! I can hear some wind noise when it is on, but barely. Plus I wanted to be able to get it on and off by myself, and I can do that, but it is somewhat difficult. I wanted the 21 but didn't want to worry about sizing or the rear hatch touching it. I ended up ordering it directly from the company that is selling it on Amazon for slightly cheaper overall price (RV & Auto Parts, name of vendor, $503 shipped). I just got my Yakima Skybox 16 Carbonite on my 2015 Outback. Probably not a big deal, just a minute or two extra to install/remove.Īnyway, I'm sure there are happy owners of all the main brands. The Thule mount requires you to turn the handle many times to get each one closed. This is good for me as I will be removing and installing it quite often. Flip a clip and it is unlocked (four mounting points like most boxes). The mounting/clamping system is also nice as it has a memory mount. Another selling point was the base of the box was much tougher/stronger than the other boxes I looked at with the exception of maybe the Thule Hyper XL. If you look at the Inno (at least the Wedge series, maybe all of them), the base has a bit of a cutout so the box sits lower/closer to the roof than many other cargo boxes. I turned the stereo off during the drive. ![]() At 65 mph, I was getting 29.3+ mpg highway. At 60 mph, I was getting 34+ mpg highway. I tested the aerodynamics on the way home. I didn't ask what that meant, though I've read a few reviews about people breaking the keys. They carry Inno, Thule and Yakima (maybe more). I bought it from Rack n Road in Sacramento. Today, I bought an Inno Wedge 624 like Jake McCoy (page 2 of this thread). I've been researching cargo boxes for a week or two.

![]() If American Idol has taught us anything - and surely it hasn’t - it’s that regular people are really boring. ![]() ![]() The bigger problem, though, is the contestants themselves. Also, we’re not told how far in advance the polygraphs happen, so one assumes that contestants have already come clean about their tests to their wives or husbands, who watch in mock surprise from a side stage in the hope that their spouse will own up to infidelity, just so they can win the cash prize. Even so, this doesn’t stop producers from inserting long, unnecessary dramatic pauses between their answers and the reaction from Truth’s omnipotent female robot voice, who confirms or denies their honesty. First, it turns out the lie-detector tests actually take place before the show is taped, so what we see is people re-answering uncomfortable questions they’ve already been asked. So, how was last night’s episode? A huge bust, for a few reasons. After the dust settled from the scandal, he was able to make something of himself.Last night, after a passably entertaining episode of American Idol, came the series premiere of Fox’s sleazy new game show The Moment of Truth, on which average, ordinary people are connected to a polygraph machine and exposed as the philandering, tax-dodging, latently racist, elderly-hating, gambling-addicted lovers of Internet pornography that they truly are - all for the chance to win $500,000! Commercials for Truth have set expectations high (especially in our apartment), promising that each contestant will be asked 21 hilarious questions like “Have you ever thought that your boyfriend, Jeff, might be gay?,” “Have you ever been paid for sex?,” and “Have you ever had sexual relations with my sister?” He wrote several books, settled down with his wife, started a family, had children, had grandchildren, It appears that he ended up having a quiet, normal life. His career was interrupted, but he did end up becoming a teacher. “He wrote a piece for the The New Yorker in which he talked about how the only thing that really bothered him about the movie was at the end where it says on screen that Charles Van Doren never taught again, and that wasn’t true. But what of the key players of Charles Van Doren and Herb Stempel? “I feel that Van Doren was very content with his fate,” Adam muses. TV quiz and game shows changed, and eventually everyone moved on. All these years later, the lessons learned are still put into practice on today’s game shows.” Networks abandoned the practice of single sponsorship of its shows, which gave those sponsors undue influence on the content of programming. Says David, “As a result of the quiz show scandals, Congress made rigging a television game show a federal crime. As she started to leave the stand, a very nice older congressman just kind of leans into his microphone and says, ‘Now, Patty, before you leave, let me ask: Was everything that you’ve just told us the truth?’ And Patty Duke burst into tears and confessed everything that she was coached and all of that.” She gave testimony that the game wasn’t rigged and nothing bad happened. They even brought in Patty Duke, who was still a kid but who had appeared on The $64,000 Challenge, which was the spin-off of The $64,000 Question. I was told very specifically to pat my eyebrow, don’t wipe my forehead.’ So Herb Stempel was given acting lessons. You’ll notice here I’m patting my brow to get rid of the sweat. Dan Enright wanted to make sure I did that, because there was an extreme close-up and that was very expressive. He said, ‘Now at this point, I’m going to bite my bottom lip. He tried blackmailing Dan Enright at one point, but Enright recorded him demanding $50,000 or else he was going to blow the whistle to the press.”Īdam further elaborates, explaining, “When Stempel came in for his hearing, they showed kinescopes of his appearances on Twenty-One, and he was going through them point by point, showing off the acting lessons that he got from Dan Enright. So he began trying to get the attention of the press to let them know what was going on. The next thing that happened was that, and the movie, again, touches on this, he got swindled out of his winnings by some really shady investment deals. He took that quote in TV Guide very personally. “When Charles Van Doren made the cover of TV Guide,” he says, “in an adjoining article Jack Barry said, ‘This is the kind of contestant that we really want, because he’s not a freak with a sponge memory.’ Jack didn’t name a name, but Herb Stempel read that article and was convinced that that was a shot at him. The producers, according to Adam, probably felt that Stempel would fade into the background, but that didn’t happen - not helped by the fact that the former contestant felt he was being taunted.

1 pint vanilla ice cream recipe1/17/2024 ![]() Then you pop it into your Ninja Creami, which “creamifies” the base with one of seven settings, by finely chopping or shaving the frozen concoction. The Ninja Creami reverses the process! Instead of churning or whipping ingredients and allowing them to freeze, you prepare an ice cream base and freeze it for at least 24 hours. 1 (14 oz.) can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk 1/2 cup half-and-half 2 tablespoon vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 pint (2 cups) heavy cream. Then there’s no-churn ice cream, where the sweetness is provided by sweetened condensed milk, and the creaminess is provided by fluffy whipped cream, so it is an easy way to make eggless ice cream that doesn’t require any cooking! This churning not only helps it freeze, but also aerates it and breaks up ice crystals, so it ends up nice and smooth. Then after the base cools in the fridge for a while, it’s churned in an ice cream maker. These ice cream bases are typically made with eggs, sugar, and milk, and cooked on the stove top. Many of us are familiar with ice cream that’s made with a custard-style base. Let’s start off by talking about how traditional ice cream is often made, then I’ll share how the Ninja Creami works. Ninja Creami Copycat Chunky Monkey Banana Ice Cream.Simmer the water below 185 degrees fahrenheit for about three hours, adding more water as needed. Place the sealed jar inside a deep pot filled with hot water that reaches about of the way up the jar. Easy Ninja Creami Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Pour the whipping cream and ground, decarboxylated cannabis into a mason jar and seal it.Take off the heat and let the mixture stand for 15 minutes. Place over medium-low heat and bring to a light simmer, stirring frequently to ensure the sugar dissolves. Decadent Ninja Creami Chocolate Ice Cream In a small pot, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, lavender, and sugar.Since it’s so versatile, I think it’s one of the best Ninja Creami recipes…and I think you’ll agree! ![]() In the last few years, I’ve begun making no-churn ice creams, which don’t require an ice cream maker at all.īut this summer, I invested in a Ninja Creami ice cream maker, which uses a different method for preparing cool and creamy frozen treats.įirst on my list of ice creams to make was a classic Ninja Creami vanilla ice cream, which is my daughter’s favorite! Wrc 9 test area map1/17/2024 There are also free updates coming in October and November, which will add new stages to the rallies in Portugal and Finland.Īn update that brings the required content for FIA Rally Star is set to arrive in December, featuring one of the new Rall圓 cars which won’t make its real-world debut until next year. There’s no release date for this game mode, but it’s likely to produce the perfect mix of hilarity and frustration between friends and family, just in time for Christmas. Split-screen remains and it will be joined by an unorthodox co-driver mode later in the year, where you’ll be tasked with acting as the co-driver for a friend, who will be solely relying on your pace notes for guidance through a stage. There’s also a dedicated WRC Esports section where gamers can receive updates on, and qualify for, the official virtual championship which began in 2016 and will launch its latest season in 2021. Unsurprisingly, considering motorsport Esports’ rising prominence this year, the multiplayer elements of the game have been bolstered with a new ‘clubs’ game mode, where you can create championships for you and your friends to compete in. WRC 9 has taken a cue from DiRT Rally 2.0 in another area. After crashing out of our first rally in a Polo GTI R5 car, our reputation with Volkswagen increased simply because we had passed its objective of avoiding using the hard tire during the rally.Ĭustomization in the game is also lacking with no option to design your helmet and overalls, or the ability to create your own team in a franchise that feels ready for such a game mode something that the DiRT franchise has offered in several of its previous installments. ![]() You’ll be given objectives that will determine your reputation with the manufacturers, although this system could benefit from some tweaking. The former is coupled with WRC2 in one combined drivers’ championship for all 20 drivers in R5 machinery – a sensible choice even if untrue to real life. You have the option of either starting your career mode in WRC3 or Junior WRC. They felt somewhat underdeveloped in WRC 8, but their handling is more refined in this year’s title. WRC 9 is hardly the market leader when it comes to classic cars, but it still adds an element of longevity to the career mode. These include taking to the wheel of one of nine classic WRC cars featured in the game. Whether its snowy Sweden or rock-strewn Argentina, the driving experience feels alive and stacks up well to Codemasters’ DiRT Rally 2.0 – the obvious barometer in the virtual rally genre.Īlthough there are some noticeable improvements, the dated graphics and weak car audio – lacking in variety between the four Rally1 cars (the Citroën C3 WRC is thrown in as a bonus car) – still hamper the overall experience but shouldn’t be dealbreakers.Ĭareer mode remains largely the same as last year which isn’t a bad thing, considering WRC 8’s overhaul added elements of car development and challenges that you can compete in outside of the WRC rallies. This is aided by the modeling of the stages, which reflect the unique personalities of each of the 13 rallies. Whether you’re playing on a controller or with a steering wheel and pedals, the experience behind the virtual wheel is one of immense pleasure and you can really develop an understanding of how the car behaves over every rock and through each sweeping corner. Therefore, it was always going to be tough for WRC 9 to match the significant step made by its predecessor outside of adding the three new rallies.įortunately, WRC 9 debuts a breathtakingly enjoyable handling model that translates the fluidity of latest-generation rally beasts far better than any of the previous installments. This decision paid dividends with an improved product in almost every aspect. WRC 9 features the 13-round WRC calendar that we started 2020 with, including the returning events in New Zealand, Kenya, and Japan – all of which will now have to wait until at least 2021 to join the real-world schedule.įollowing a lukewarm reception to its first three WRC titles, Parisian game developer Kylotonn took an extra year to develop last year’s WRC 8. ![]() ![]() The latest officially licensed World Rally Championship game, WRC 9, is launching today and offers fans the chance to experience the originally intended 2020 WRC season prior to its coronavirus-induced decimation.

Bumblebee jasper rough1/17/2024 ![]() It helps remove stagnant or negative energy and promotes a sense of balance and well-being. When used for its metaphysical healing properties bumblebee jasper cleanses and purifies the human energy field. As a result there's very little fine grade material left available. ![]() It was named bumblebee jasper by an American rock and mineral enthusiast who found the stone whilst working in Indonesia.ĭue to its popularity huge amounts of bumblebee jasper have now been mined. This roughly translates to "coal becoming sulphur". The danger comes from inhaling their dust or microscopic fibres.Ĭutting and polishing these minerals must be done with caution and appropriate breathing protection must be used.īumblebee jasper is known locally as "batu badar belerang". Minerals with toxic elements are safe to handle especially once polished. Testing has shown bumblebee jasper is high in sulphur and arsenic. The black markings are believed to come from manganese oxides. Orpiment and realgar form in the same environment and share similar physical properties. It was originally believed to come from another arsenic sulphide called orpiment. The yellow and orange colour of bumblebee jasper comes from an arsenic sulphide called realgar. In many cases it causes no end of confusion when geologists try to identify the chemical composition of a specific material. Jasper is always popular because it's a material people are familiar with. Many colourful stones used for decorative purposes are given trade names. From a geological perspective agate is similar to jasper. It's also sometimes referred to as an agate which is also incorrect. Jasper is associated with quartz and there's no quartz in bumblebee jasper. The name "jasper" is misleading because it's not a jasper at all. Scientific analysis has confirmed bumblebee jasper is limestone composed primarily of calcite. Bumblebee Jasper Properties, Facts and Photos What is Bumblebee Jasper?īumblebee jasper is a relatively rare stone from west Java in Indonesia.Īlthough widely reported to come from Mount Papandayan, this location has only been used as a landmark close to where the stone is found.īumblebee jasper being found at Mount Papandayan initially confused geologists because it's extremely rare to find limestone inside or even close to a volcano.
